Rainy Day

So it's been raining like crazy all day.  Yay for big cold fronts and tropical depressions!  I'm just glad that it wasn't snow...otherwise we wouldn't be going anywhere for days!

So this was what it looked like out the window all day:

I should also pause and get a bit sad when I say that Belly Boo is 14 months old today.  It's crazy.  She's not my little baby anymore.  :-(

Mmmhmm, I just love her so much!

And!  The hubs is knitting!  He's making a scarf...I'll have to take pictures and follow his progress.  Haha

Enjoy your Thursday, everyone!

New Shop Items

Since there are only 87 shopping days until Christmas (yup, I just went there) I've been working hard at bulking up my inventory!  I finally got a chance to take a boatload of pictures today so I can post new items tonight after the gym and dinner.  Here's a collage of some things that will be making their way to the shop later!

And we're now on Facebook!  Just search North Street Studio and become a fan to be on the inside track to new items, sales and special give aways!

September Snapshots (So Far)

Here are some of my favorite shots from September.  I can't wait for the leaves to start changing colors so I can take beautiful pictures around town.

Watching the marching band at Belly Boo's first football game of the season.

I love September skies.  It was so blue that night.
Drip...
...drop.

Belly Boo's crazy hair during bath time!

Likes & Dislikes

My likes for the week:

This amazingly gorgeous weather.  It just screams fall is on it's way and it makes me want to dig out all my sweaters, scarves and hats right this second.

Grey's Anatomy comes back this week.  In two days to be exact.  And now I get to watch it with my hubs, which is so much more fun than watching it alone.  It also means that McDreamy is back.  Yes. :-)

Going to see my best friend on Friday night at LVC.  I miss her like whoa and I'm sure we will have a fantastic time.  And seeing everyone else won't hurt either. ;-)

My dislikes for the week:

This cold that I currently have.  It's terrible.  My head feels like a ticking time bomb and no matter what meds I take it will just not go away.  My hubs has been taking good care of me though, and I'm feeling better today than I did yesterday, so yay!

The fact that the weather will be going from fall-like to summer-like in the next day.  Highs back in the 90's again.  I don't want an Indian Summer.

Not being able to sleep.  This cold is keeping me away from my slumber, which isn't good for anyone.  So if I seem grumpy, it's not on purpose and I apologize.

What exciting things are happening to you this week?....Or what can't you wait to be over?

Home.

We've been in our house for over a year now, and we've been doing a lot of work to make it ours.  We've painted and decorated Belly Boo's bedroom, painted the living room and dining room, and I've made curtains in the living room, dining room and kitchen.  The Hubs has his man cave downstairs and I have my craft room upstairs.  This house is very well lived in.

But it still doesn't feel like home.

Home is still over an hour away at my parent's house.  It's close to where my family and friends are.  It's my comfort zone, where I know that everything is going to be okay.

I still don't feel that way here and I don't know why.  We live in a great area, but I still can't let go of Berks County no matter how hard I try.  Some days are better than others, but most of the time I just want to go home.

Does it get easier?  And if it does how long does it take?

I hope it's soon.  I'm not sure I can take it much longer.

In less depressing news...it finally rained today, which is good because we needed it.  And we have a busy weekend coming up.  It's always something!

I Love Mondays.

I know that most people aren't a fan of Mondays, but I love them.  And yes, I'm totally serious.  For me, they are one of the most productive and fun days of the week.

Like today, for example.  I've done some cleaning, some reading, some hanging out with Belly Boo, but I've also hit my really domestic feeling that I seem to get every fall.

So in addition to starting a yummy dinner which I can't wait to serve tonight, I've got a loaf of French bread going in the bread maker and I made a batch of applesauce using my Mom-mom's fantastic recipe.

Maybe this weekend I'll get some fresh tomatoes and make a big ole batch of tomato sauce to freeze and use throughout the winter.  Sounds good to me.

And if you have an extra minute (on Monday...Tuesday...any day...) check out my Etsy shop that I just opened. I'm more than willing to do custom orders like school colors, holiday pins, and pieces for special occasions like weddings, school dances, graduations, etc.  They make great gifts for birthdays and holidays.

Happy Monday everyone!

Summer is Over...

That's the last time Belly Boo's toes will be in the pond until next summer....

Mi Cocina!

One of the blogs that I follow, busy bee lauren, is having a give away for one of the cutest aprons ever.  So for extra points, I'm doing a little bloggy post on our kitchen.

We got a new stove in May, and I was so excited that I did a post about it...so I'm not going to bore you with any pictures of my stove again.  Anywho, here is the lay of the land in my kitchen, along with some of my favorite things there.

Here we are walking from the dining room to the kitchen.  Pantry is on the right!  I made the curtains.

Food and water bowls for the cats. :-)

This corner is for cookbooks, our compost container and other random kitchen necessities.  And our broom and dustpan.  Haha

The light that doesn't work.  We've kind of neglected getting the kitchen fixed up.  Haha

So now that I've bored you with all that, here's the fun stuff! :-)

We <3 hot beverages.  Here we have our Moka pot for espresso, tea kettle and French Press for coffee.

Truer words were never spoken!

Pictures, quotes, ticket stubs and love letters hang on our fridge. :-)

So there you have it, a closer glimpse into our kitchen.

On a totally unrelated note...happy first day of September!
