Bubbles

Something about sitting outside in the grass and blowing bubbles just makes me feel like a little kid.  Belly Boo makes it so much more fun because she just giggles and chases after them.

I just love her little toothy grin!

May Flowers

After all the rain in April (and let's face it, May as well), we were basically guaranteed beautiful flowers this spring, and we've got them.

My Little Artist

Belly Boo loves to color.  She's a fan of every medium, but definitely loves pen, much to my dismay.  I love watching her concentration and how she looks over every color very carefully before using it.  Sometimes she will actually sit for an hour straight just being content and coloring, and when she's finished she'll proudly hold up her latest masterpiece for us to see.  So sweet!

Kittens

While I was home this weekend, I got to play with four adorable kittens.  I fell in love with a little guy named Morris, but we're not in the market for another cat right now, no matter how ridiculously cute they are.  Morris did try and sneak into my suitcase while I was packing on Sunday, but I told him he had to stay with his momma.

I may or may not have cried last night when I didn't have any little furballs to nuzzle my nose into.

May Day

On Saturday night, my mom, aunt, brother, Belly Boo and I went to May Day, which is a big carnival held every year at the high school that my mom, dad, and aunt graduated from.  There are lots of games, some rides and of course, yummy food.  The weather was perfect, and it was a great time!

1.  Belly Boo tired of my camera in her face.
2.  Looking out into the crowds.
3.  Games!
4.  Belly Boo (again)!
5.  One of the rides, would have made me sick to my stomach.  Haha
6.  Funnel cake.  Yum.

Busy Weekend Ahead

We have a crazy weekend coming up!

Tonight we're getting all dressed up and attending my cousin's wedding.  I'm sure it will be a blast and it's always fun to have my huge family together under the same roof!

Then Belly Boo and I are heading back to Berks County for some fun while the hubs has guard this weekend.

On Saturday I'll be visiting my grandparents and checking out some May Day celebrations (a little late, I guess).

And I'm not sure what's in store for Sunday but I'm sure it will involve playing with a ton of kittens.

So basically I'm making sure both my camera batteries are charged and ready to go.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Mother's Day & 2nd Wedding Anniversary

On Sunday I was showered with Mother's Day love.  I got the cutest handmade card from Belly Boo and the hubs, and had a very relaxing day!  We went to visit the hub's mom, and had a fun few hours chatting & eating a really yummy dinner!

Then, on Monday, the hubs and I celebrated two years of marriage!  It's crazy to think that it's been two years already.  He got me some lovely flowers and we went to a little Belgian cafe for dinner.  It was an absolutely lovely evening!

Flower Garden Quilt: May Update

I seem to be keeping a good pace, about a month to get one row done, thought I did stay up a bit late last night to finish the row off.  I love how it's starting to take shape and I can't wait to start the third row this week!  This is definitely one of the most relaxing projects I've ever done!

First Friday

On Friday night we made our way into town to check out First Friday.  Most of the shops and restaurants downtown stayed open late and there were some cute art galleries and musicians that were playing throughout the night.  We walked around and met up with some friends, and grabbed some yummy ice cream from a 50's style malt shop.

I really do love our little town.  It is so full of beauty, and it makes me wish that we could have window boxes like the old row homes in town do.

#winning

Finally scored Death Cab for Cutie tickets.
I'm only a little bit excited.

Only 91 days to go.
Not that I'm counting or anything.
Someone pinch me.

A Little Re-purposing Project

This week I was doing a bit of spring cleaning, and I found all of these old baby food jars that I had saved.  I thought for a bit and figured out that I could use them for some organizing in my craft room.

So I cleaned up the jars and removed the labels, and spray painted the lids aqua blue.  After the lids were dry I used the jars to store all of my different buttons and other small things by color.

Eventually I would like to get a little shelf to hang to put them on, but for now this is a good start on organizing my little room.

What I'm Working On (May Edition)

The month of May is going to be really busy, but then again what month isn't?  Here's a sneak peak of what I'll be working on.

  • Making and mailing invitations for my grandparent's 50th Wedding Anniversary party.  I'm really excited to work on these and I can't wait to share how they turn out.
  • Revamping and changing the look and products in my Etsy store.  I'm currently in "vacation mode" but I'm busy planning and researching some new products and changing directions a little bit.  Stay tuned for a relaunch soon!
  • Organizing and making my craft room a bit more functional.
  • Working on my quilt.
  • Planting and working in our garden.
Happy May everyone!
