Change of the seasons...

I wish I had some pictures of beautiful fall leaves to share, but our warm and rainy weather over the past few weeks means that we won't be seeing the amazing colors of fall until the end of October. 

This really bums me out since I just love fall, but in a way I'm okay with it because I really feel like the weeks are just flying by right now.

There is some good news, though!  Starting on Monday I'll be switching to a new store and starting full time with my bank.  I'm bummed that I have to switch stores, but I'm glad that I will have more evenings and weekends off to spend with me family.  I know that this will be a great opportunity for our family and I'm looking forward to meeting new co-workers and customers!

Down on the Farm...

This past Saturday, we took Belly Boo to an orchard to pick some apples and pumpkins for Halloween.  We all had a blast!  Belly Boo loved walking around everywhere (on her own!  Such a happy/sad moment for me) and picking up the apples that were already on the ground.  The Hubs loved eating the apples straight off the tree.  After we picked our apples and pumpkins out, we visited the farm stand that was there and got some amazing whoopie pies and caramel corn.  It was soo good!

Beauty is...

in the eye of the beholder.

I take in loads of beautiful things every day.  I get to watch my daughter learn new things, like opening and closing drawers, taking laundry out of the basket, playing in her bath tub, giving our cats kisses and running around the living room.  I get to take in the changing of the season - the leaves as they change color, the last remaining flowers clinging on to summer, the wind and the rain.  I get to watch the most lovely man on the planet fall asleep next to me every night.

my blues were insanely blue today.  My uncle called them limpid pools.  Haha

Likes & Dislikes

My likes for the week:

This amazingly gorgeous weather.  It just screams fall is on it's way and it makes me want to dig out all my sweaters, scarves and hats right this second.

Grey's Anatomy comes back this week.  In two days to be exact.  And now I get to watch it with my hubs, which is so much more fun than watching it alone.  It also means that McDreamy is back.  Yes. :-)

Going to see my best friend on Friday night at LVC.  I miss her like whoa and I'm sure we will have a fantastic time.  And seeing everyone else won't hurt either. ;-)


My dislikes for the week:

This cold that I currently have.  It's terrible.  My head feels like a ticking time bomb and no matter what meds I take it will just not go away.  My hubs has been taking good care of me though, and I'm feeling better today than I did yesterday, so yay!

The fact that the weather will be going from fall-like to summer-like in the next day.  Highs back in the 90's again.  I don't want an Indian Summer.  

Not being able to sleep.  This cold is keeping me away from my slumber, which isn't good for anyone.  So if I seem grumpy, it's not on purpose and I apologize.

Same Old Cookie, Yummier Twist

Yesterday I felt the insane need to bake something.  I looked in our pantry and saw a big bag of Craisins that I knew I could do something with.  So I thought...hmm, muffins?  Nah.  Too messy.  


And then it hit me.  Oatmeal craisin cookies.  I'm not a fan of raisins at all so this seemed to be an acceptable substitution.

Just use your favorite oatmeal cookie recipe and instead of adding raisins put in the craisins.  It's really easy and is a great cookie for upcoming fall picnics and even a new alternative to Christmas cookies (I will definitely be making a batch or two of these for friends).  Not to mention your place will smell so yummy after your cookies will done.
